OK right now still in the brain storming phase.  Basic Idea is to build a stereo that looks as much like the motorboating mascot in the upper left corner of the forum.

Ok the plan is I am going to use a light weight either wood frame or aluminum framming.  The plan is I am going to use 4 speakers and a head unit.  I will be using a 8" on the top and a 6.5 below it and then I am going to hide 2 6x9's or 6.5's on the side.  the plan is to cover the 2 side speakers with a cloth to hide them on the sides.

You could use that aluminum right angle bar that looks like an oversized linker toys set for the frame... It may not be sturdy enough but it has all of the holes to piece and mount at different angles

Yeah that's what I am thinking about using it should be sturdy enough once I add the fiberglass.

why dont you make the front side look like the back side??  2 8's and 2 6.5".....  it would give you more of the sound all around and you dont have to worry about hiding speakers with cloth and such..   Id go with a wooden frame and go with 1x1's or something if you're going to try your hand at fiberglassing !  and if you have any questions on glass Ill do my best to help answer them..  832 514 9187  Austin

That is what I was thinking too with the speakers.  I think that would sound great.

I figure I am going to make it around 3-4 ft tall.  I dont want it to top heavy which I am hoping the batery in the bottom will off set that.

What about putting the head unit right between the two speakers on the front?  It would keep it from being a bit taller.

I am thinking about making the base wider so it will fit on a small cart and the base will be hidden by the tube.  So I am thinking about mounting the stereo in the base.

I thought about that I have the life proof case for my iphone but I dont want my phone on the river.  I go to the river to get away from people. LOL

I may do just the I pod and a small 400w amp just to save on weight.
