Right now I am thinking about using this 162qt cooler

http://www.igloocoolers.com/Coolers_3/All-Coolers/162-Quart-Marine

or this 250qt great white

Holy Cow! I vote the 250!!  More space for more speakers!

Are you gonna put 4 on each side or are you gonna try to fit some on the end so you have 360 degree music?  And I know your subs on the past versions haven't had a topper for any directional bass control, is that the plan again this time?

With either cooler you will have plenty of space.  On one battery you could run eight 6x9ís off a four channel amp like the youanimal radio wagon.  Then use the second battery to run two 10ís or one 15. Grin

No I am planning on a topper to port my subs out and going to try and place speakers on the ends since there will be no real use for handles.

I am not sure on the amp and set up yet.  I thought about going with pyle's again.

But on the other hand I really like the looks of the Soundstream trantula's and I thought about using higher quality equipment.

But I have yet to have any of the pyle equipment let me down yet, and v1 has made 9 trips down the Guadalupe and even had over 2" of water in the bottom of it and still works.  even had the lid left shut on it and the humidity caused some of the cheap screws to rust but the amp still worked and the speakers are still in good shape.

Hopefully I will have the cooler by the end of the month and can start visualizing what the speaker configuration will be and maybe even a brand.  I am unsure how I am going to set up the inside even though I have thought about not makeing any storage that may change once I get started on the build.  If nothing else add some dry storage because there will be ALOT of room inside of either cooler I go with.

I have even thought about placing the two subs on the ends of the cooler.

I am going to have to build some mounts so I can mout the batteries under the cooler to 1 keep the weight lower.  2 more room inside the cooler.

I thought about not even using a cooler but making something like youanimal..............but that just would not be a "cooler Radio" Grin

I looked into maybe using a diamond plated truck tool box........But I think its going to make it harder.

1. to much weight up top
2. hard to find a solid rectangular tool box
3. VIBRATION'S

I measured out the 250qt great white and that is going to be WAY to big around 5ft long.

I would like to find a 180-200 qt but the only 200qt I can find is the colman 200 extream cooler for around 300.00

I like the specs on the Soundstream subs.  Have you heard them in person?

What about the igloo 165 qt? Maybe not as big as you hoped but that thing is big and could make for an interesting build!

the only difference between the igloo 150 and the 165 is the 165 is a little taller with a HUGE lid.

Trying to decide on what size speakers I should go with.

I am looking at either 6x9 or 7.7"

What do ya think.  Still not sure on a brand.  I really like the soundstreams 6x9's but having a hard time finding the specific ones I want.
