I was out cruzing torrent sites trying to download a playlist I compiled over the winter. It was begining to become a PITA!  Roll Eyes

So I decided to start looking for the original songs on youtube. Sure enough I found most of my music. High quality and uploaded directly from the Artist.

I then googled youtube to mp3 and got this:
http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-YouTube-to-MP3-Converter.htm

This link is for MP3 software that does a mighty fine job. This will download the files to a directory of your choosing, and include the album art!
One of the best features is.... it starts downloading just by copying the youtube link.

EDIT... Previous post and web only links.
Low Quality
http://www.youtube-mp3.org/

High Quality
http://www.video2mp3.net/index.php     (<------ This is littered with popups and wants to charge $4.99/mo to stop them)

it's that easy! The songs do not have any album art, but keep a decent filename.   [edit it with tagscanner and you're good to go]

The only problem with that site is it only converts the audio to 128k... which imho sounds like shit, especially on a loud system.

We use MP3 Rocket for youtube music... easy to use and converts to 256k. We then redo the tags and use mp3 gain to equalize everything. Through youtube find the videos that do lyrics as those are typically the album version and cuts all the talking from some of the videos.

Great advice. I see that MP3 Rocket is a download. Some people do not want to download the software that does the conversion.

I found an even better site. www.youtube-mp3.org  There are no popups or adds. It is super fast and I already have downloaded 30 songs with it.
